Published in 2015, Anna Zilboorg's Splendid Apparel: a Handbook of Embroidered Knits brings two crafts together in a unique way. Zilboorg knits richy textured fabrics, then adds embroidery for emphasis, color, detail, even sheen.
This handbook includes a dozen embroidery stitches and a library of textured knit patterns. Swatches - photographed both as they come off the knitting needles and after embroidering - show the transformation and provide a further springboard for exploration.
Anna Zilboorg’s Splendid Apparel also includes sweater and vest patterns that showcase embroidery along with some of her favorite garment details: almost-seamless panel construction and her famous Perfect (and Almost-Perfect) Buttonholes.
